[ET Net News Agency, 5 June 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$64.52
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$8.81 billion, or 13.66% of the market's
turnover. There were 624 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and HSCEI ETF (02828) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$950.34 million and HK$569.2 million, or
10.78% and 6.46% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
20.56% and 29.57% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and CCB (00939) registered HK$512.11 million and HK$437.8 million
of short sales, accounting for 5.81% and 4.97% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 11.92% and 31.15% of respective stock's
turnover.
TENCENT closed up HK$6.6, or 1.75%, to HK$384. HSCEI ETF ended down HK$0.06, or 0.09%,
to HK$66.6. TRACKER FUND rose HK$0.07, or 0.38% to HK$18.73. CCB jumped HK$0.01, or 0.18%,
to HK$5.62.
