[ET Net News Agency, 8 November 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$141.19 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$15.23 billion, or 10.79% of the
market's turnover. There were 652 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and MEITUAN-W
(03690) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$900.8 million and HK$732.4
million, or 5.92% and 4.81% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 8.75% and 15.57% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$701.64 million and HK$692.02 million
of short sales, accounting for 4.61% and 4.54% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 12.2% and 17.35% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.18, or 0.85%, to HK$20.9. MEITUAN-W ended down HK$8.3, or
4.15%, to HK$191.6. HSCEI ETF fell HK$0.6, or 0.78% to HK$76.22. BABA-W declined by
HK$0.8, or 0.84%, to HK$94.85.
