[ET Net News Agency, 11 April 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$276.43
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$43.12 billion, or 15.6% of the market's
turnover. There were 733 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$5.71 billion and HK$3.75 billion, or 13.24%
and 8.71% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 30.8%
and 60.45% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and BYD COMPANY (01211) registered HK$2.41 billion and HK$1.96 billion
of short sales, accounting for 5.58% and 4.54% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 11.71% and 29.27% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed down HK$1.8, or 1.72%, to HK$103. CSOP HS TECH ended up HK$0.06, or 1.27%,
to HK$4.8. TENCENT fell HK$1.4, or 0.31% to HK$443.4. BYD COMPANY jumped HK$24.6, or
7.15%, to HK$368.8.
