[ET Net News Agency, 21 January 2026] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$250.45 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$41.55 billion, or 16.59% of the
market's turnover. There were 797 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and HSCEI ETF
(02828) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$9.39 billion and HK$5.02
billion, or 22.61% and 12.08% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 52.91% and 39.25% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W (01810) and BIDU-SW (09888) registered HK$1.13 billion and HK$1.11 billion of
short sales, accounting for 2.72% and 2.66% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 12.06% and 34.85% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.12, or 0.45%, to HK$26.8. HSCEI ETF ended up HK$0.32, or
0.34%, to HK$93.52. XIAOMI-W fell HK$0.06, or 0.17% to HK$35.42. BIDU-SW jumped HK$4.9, or
3.29%, to HK$153.7.
