billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$52.29 billion, or 15.8% of the market's
turnover. There were 833 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and TENCENT (00700)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$7.29 billion and HK$4.78 billion, or
13.93% and 9.14% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
19.62% and 15.18% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$2.9 billion and HK$2.41 billion of
short sales, accounting for 5.55% and 4.6% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 23.26% and 18.44% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.56, or 2.19%, to HK$26.18. TENCENT ended up HK$37.5, or
7.27%, to HK$553.5. CSOP HS TECH rose HK$0.124, or 2.57% to HK$4.946. BABA-W jumped
HK$4.8, or 3.73%, to HK$133.5.
