[ET Net News Agency, 11 March 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$147.49
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$20.37 billion, or 13.81% of the market's
turnover. There were 786 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and BABA-W (09988) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.76 billion and HK$938.75 million, or
18.45% and 4.61% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
19.39% and 18.35% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W (01810) and MEITUAN-W (03690) registered HK$747.53 million and HK$721 million
of short sales, accounting for 3.67% and 3.54% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 29.89% and 41.96% of respective stock's
turnover.
TENCENT closed up HK$2.5, or 0.45%, to HK$556. BABA-W ended up HK$0.4, or 0.3%, to
HK$133.9. XIAOMI-W fell HK$0.12, or 0.36% to HK$33.5. MEITUAN-W declined by HK$2.1, or
2.65%, to HK$77.
