billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$37.57 billion, or 14.76% of the market's
turnover. There were 825 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and BABA-W (09988) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$4.95 billion and HK$1.34 billion, or 13.17%
and 3.56% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 18.46%
and 16.16% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W (01810) and MEITUAN-W (03690) registered HK$1.19 billion and HK$1.19 billion of
short sales, accounting for 3.18% and 3.17% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 28.04% and 38.49% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT closed down HK$1.5, or 0.27%, to HK$552. BABA-W ended down HK$0.3, or 0.22%, to
HK$133.2. XIAOMI-W fell HK$0.28, or 0.83% to HK$33.34. MEITUAN-W declined by HK$1.7, or
2.15%, to HK$77.4.
