billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$54.45 billion, or 19.08% of the market's
turnover. There were 849 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and TENCENT (00700)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.64 billion and HK$3.04 billion, or
6.68% and 5.58% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
16.81% and 22.24% of respective stock's turnover.
BYD COMPANY (01211) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$2.52 billion and HK$1.77 billion of
short sales, accounting for 4.63% and 3.24% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 43.97% and 18.32% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.2, or 0.79%, to HK$25. TENCENT ended down HK$11.8, or
2.39%, to HK$481.6. BYD COMPANY fell HK$0.7, or 0.66% to HK$105.8. BABA-W declined by
HK$2.1, or 1.71%, to HK$120.5.
