　　當談及到預算與籌劃等專案時，我們經常需要說明「公司業績」、「產品銷售量」等數據和趨勢。那麼。在處理圖表上數字和形勢時，你是否只會說「increase（上升）」和「decrease（下降）」？用 ‘increase’ 和 ‘decrease’ 雖然可以概括的說明數據和趨勢，但是並未能描述具體的升跌的情況，再者，只會一味用同一種方式表達同一概念，只會讓對方覺得你談話內容枯燥乏味，欠缺生氣。

　　本周，筆者整理出一系列超實用描述方式，教大家如何使用更具體、更精準的措辭。以下是14個表達「上升」或「下降」等趨勢的措辭和例句：

Part 1：描述上升現象／趨勢

1. edge up (v.) 小幅上升；微升

例句一：

In its second-quarter （第二季度） results announced last week, the company said that the store sales had edged up 4 percent.

在上周公布的第二季度業績中，該公司表示門店銷售額小幅增長了 4%。

例句二：

Consumer price inflation （通脹）had edged up moderately. 

消費物價通脹微升了。

2. a rise (n.) in ________ 上升

例句：

There was a rise in our cafe's sales over the 3 years, followed by a sudden increase to HKD$250,000. 

我們咖啡廳的銷售額在過去 3 年裡也有所上升， 並突然增加到 250,000 港元。

3. grow (v.) 增加 

例句：

Our sales had grown steadily (穩步地) since 2019.

自 2019 年以來，我們的銷售額穩步增長。

4. a single-digit rise (n phr.) 呈個位數增長 

例句：

Our branch showed a single-digit rise in sales last month.

我們分店上個月的銷售額呈個位數增長。

5. a double-digit rise (n phr.) 呈兩位數增長 

例句：

We recorded a double-digit rise in sales and profits.

6. skyrocket (v.) 急劇增長; 猛增

例句：

Over the past decade, the number of smartphone owners has skyrocketed from 150 million to 4 billion worldwide.

7. soar 飆升 

例句：

In Q2 2020, e-commerce soared by nearly five times, according to Commerce Department data.

8. drop (v.) 下降

例句：

Their store's sales had dropped by a third.

9. plunge (v.) 大跌；銳減

例句：

Overall, the number of visitors plunged from 220,000 to 25,000 during the period.

例句一：
